Troubleshooting - Fix Common Issues

Fix ENHYPEN ESCAPE game issues. Solutions for game not loading, controls not working, performance problems, and browser compatibility.

Troubleshooting

Having trouble with ENHYPEN ESCAPE? This guide covers the most common issues and their solutions.

Game Won't Load

Check Your Internet Connection

ENHYPEN ESCAPE requires an active internet connection to load the game. Make sure you're connected and try loading a different website to confirm your connection works.

Clear Browser Cache

Cached data can sometimes cause loading issues:

  1. Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear Browsing Data → Cached images and files
  2. Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
  3. Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search, and Services → Clear Browsing Data

Disable Browser Extensions

Some browser extensions (especially ad blockers or security extensions) can interfere with game loading:

  1. Try loading the game in an incognito/private window (no extensions active)
  2. If it works, disable extensions one by one to find the culprit
  3. Add enhypenescape.net and res.enhypenescape.net to your extension's allowlist

Try a Different Browser

If the game won't load in your current browser, try one of these supported browsers:

  • Google Chrome (recommended)
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge

Controls Not Responding

Click Inside the Game

The browser needs focus on the game iframe before keyboard controls work. Click anywhere inside the game area before using WASD or other keyboard controls.

Check for Conflicting Shortcuts

Browser extensions or OS-level keyboard shortcuts might intercept game controls:

  • F key (flashlight): Some browsers use F for "Find" — click inside the game first
  • TAB key (menu): The browser might switch focus — click inside the game area again
  • WASD keys: Should work in all browsers without conflict

Ensure JavaScript Is Enabled

ENHYPEN ESCAPE requires JavaScript. Check that JavaScript is enabled in your browser settings.

Performance Issues

Close Other Tabs

The game uses browser resources (CPU, memory, GPU). Close unnecessary tabs to free up resources.

Minimum System Requirements

  • CPU: Any modern processor (2015+)
  • RAM: 4GB minimum, 8GB recommended
  • GPU: Integrated graphics sufficient
  • Browser: Latest version of Chrome, Firefox, or Edge

Reduce Browser Resource Usage

  1. Close other resource-intensive applications
  2. Disable hardware acceleration if experiencing visual glitches: Browser Settings → System → Use hardware acceleration
  3. Close browser developer tools if open

Try the Desktop App

For the best performance, consider the macOS desktop application. It offers:

  • 3-5x faster loading times
  • Lower memory usage (100-200MB vs 200-400MB)
  • Stable 60fps frame rate
  • Offline mode

Browser Compatibility

BrowserVersionStatus
Chrome90+✅ Fully Supported
Firefox88+✅ Fully Supported
Edge90+✅ Fully Supported
Safari15+⚠️ Limited Support
Opera76+✅ Supported
BraveLatest✅ Supported (disable Shields for game)

Safari-Specific Issues

Safari has limited WebGL and iframe support compared to other browsers. If you experience issues on Safari:

  • Try Chrome or Firefox instead
  • Ensure Safari is updated to the latest version
  • Check Settings → Websites → disable "Prevent cross-site tracking" for enhypenescape.net

Mobile Browsers

ENHYPEN ESCAPE is designed for PC browsers and does not currently support mobile devices. The game requires keyboard and mouse input (WASD + click) which isn't available on mobile.

Audio Issues

No Sound

  1. Check that your system volume is turned up
  2. Check that the browser tab isn't muted (look for a speaker icon on the tab)
  3. Ensure your browser allows autoplay: Settings → Privacy → Site Settings → Sound

Audio Distortion

  • Close other applications playing audio
  • Try refreshing the page
  • If using Bluetooth audio, try wired headphones instead (Bluetooth latency can cause sync issues)

Fullscreen Issues

Can't Enter Fullscreen

  • Click the Fullscreen button below the game (not the browser's F11)
  • Some browsers block fullscreen requests — check for a notification bar asking for permission
  • Try using the F11 key as an alternative

Game Doesn't Fill Screen in Fullscreen

  • Check your display resolution settings
  • Try refreshing the page while in fullscreen mode
  • Ensure browser zoom is set to 100% (Ctrl/Cmd + 0 to reset)

macOS Desktop App Issues

App Won't Open

If you see "Cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer":

  1. Open System PreferencesSecurity & Privacy
  2. In the General tab, click Open Anyway
  3. Or use terminal:
    sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/ENHYPEN ESCAPE.app"

App Runs Slowly

  • Ensure your Mac meets the system requirements
  • Close other applications to free up memory
  • Check that macOS is updated to the latest version

For detailed macOS installation instructions, see the macOS App Guide.
